Bulk Uploads

What is a Bulk Upload?

A bulk upload is the process of Harvard Business Impact uploading a large group of users to a product at once. Bulk uploads can be used to either register or expire users from that specific product.

Single Sign On

Provisioning

If you are a provisioning client, bulk uploads will create authentication issues down the line. Please advise users to access the product to create an account.

Authenticating

If you are an authenticating client, bulk uploads can be utilized for your learners. However, if you use any authenticating EPFs, please make sure to include those. More details can be found below.

Manual Login

If you are a manual login client, bulk uploads can be utilized for all your learners!

How do they work?

Bulk Uploads are performed by the Learner and Technology Services team at Harvard Business Impact.

The Process

  • Download the template and fill in the forms. Be sure to refer to the Definitions tab when filling out the template.
  • Email the completed file to productsupport@harvardbusiness.org or submit it in a ticket
    • If you have multiple products, be sure to specify which product the learners need to be added to
  • The team will process your file within 5 business days. Please refer to the SLA document for additional information

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have a group that needs to be added to two or more products?

The same file can be utilized for multiple products. Please specify in your message if that is the case.

Can I include Extended Profile Fields (EPFs) in the upload?

Yes, you can include EPFs in the upload, as long as they were already established for your organization. Please submit a ticket if you are unsure of the EPF status.

Can I bulk upload users to a specific group within HBR and/or HMM Spark?

No, the bulk upload process is only applicable to adding or removing users' access to a specific product.

Can Admins be bulk uploaded into a product?

No, Admins cannot be bulk uploaded. An Admin account request will need to be sent to Product Support separately from the bulk upload. If a user account was previously bulk uploaded, their access can be updated via the same
